In an effort to benchmark our SubRosa wines from the Grampians and Pyrenees against the best in the world, we sent some wine to London for the 2024 International Wine Challenge.

The International Wine Challenge is a global wine and spirits community, focused on people and expertise. Their mission is to champion the best wines from around the world.

We’re excited to share that our SubRosa 2019 Nebbiolo, crafted from Pyrenees-grown grapes, was awarded a silver medal and 92 points. No other non-Italian Nebbiolo rated higher!

The 2024 International Wine Challenge judges said:

“Rose, cherry, and spice with dried herbs and hints of mushroom. Light, bright, and crunchy with a mineral core. This shows that Aussie Nebbiolo can age beautifully. Delicious plums and herbaceousness.”

We’re incredibly proud of this high rating and review. This recognition reassures us that our wines made by our co-founder Adam Louder are truly world-class, which is what we strive for.

In addition to this honour, SubRosa’s 2019 Grampians Pyrenees Shiraz was also awarded a silver medal with 90 points at the International Wine Challenge. The judges had this high praise for our Shiraz.

“Rich juicy spicy black fruits with soft tannins, a hint of pepper, and balanced finish”.
