SubRosa 2017 Monseigneur Cabernet Sauvignon

SubRosa 2017 Monseigneur Cabernet Sauvignon

2017 SubRosa Monseigneur Cabernet Sauvignon

Grampians, Victoria

$60

Crafted with 100% Grampians Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for 16 months in French oak.

  • Halliday Wine Companion, 92 Pts: "Hand-picked fruit from Great Western, matured for 16 months in French oak. 70 dozen made. Blackcurrant, green herb and a touch of mint/eucalypt on the bouquet. It's ripe and solid in flavour through the palate and with good length, the tannin mostly unobtrusive but providing some grip on the finish. A bit more bottle age will only do it good."

  • Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon

    Vintage: 2017

    Region: Grampians, Victoria

    Winemaker: Adam Louder

    Alcohol Percentage: 14.3

  • We had good spring rainfall which meant there was minimal stress in the vineyards, the season was harmonious with ideal conditions for growing right across the region. The Grampians had an absolute classic vintage with cool nights, beautiful warm days and lots of sunshine.

  • Matured for 16 months in French oak. No fining. Vegan.

  • Our cool climate Cabernet has herbal notes so matches beautifully with herb crusted lamb or chicken. Or for something different - a dark chocolate tart.

"It's ripe and solid in flavour through the palate and with good length."

Halliday Wine Companion, Steven Creber

"The palate shows more forward black fruits, some cedar and coffee grounds adding complexity."
