SubRosa 2015 Pyrenees Nebbiolo – SOLD OUT

Out of stock

“Rich scents of ash, dark cherry, game meat, leather straps, anise. Evocative, dense fog of savouriness and fruit. Medium weight, light concentration, savoury flavours, more of the game meat, medicinal cherry fruitiness, fine ropes of suede tannin, finishes with a burst of fresh-feeling acidity and some nice bitterness. Glorious drinking,” Mike Bennie, Winefront.

Crafted with 100% Pyrenees Nebbiolo from Malakoff Estate. 28 days on skins. 12 months in used French barriques. No fining or filtration. 18 months in bottle pre-release.

From the Malakoff Estate, matured for 12 months in used French barriques. Well, well, it’s like jumping into the surf thinking it’s going to be very cold, only to find it’s perfect. Coming to the end of the day’s tasting, Nebbiolo tannins can fill the mouth with fast-drying cement. This is a high quality wine by any standards, complete with violets on the bouquet, sumptuous dark fruits and millimetre perfect tannins.
